Going to New York was such an amazing, and different experience. Being part of the film invitational alone in itself was amazing. The whole group and I were just so ready to go and shoot or at least we thought we were since we were so crunched on time. I didn’t realized how limited we were until the second day we were there where we filmed literally all day and time was just not on our side. We rushed to get to one part to the other, to then edit as soon as we came into the hotel. But it has taught me so much that you really do have to expect the unexpected and things may not always go the way you seem. But filming with our crew was so much fun even though we did get on each others nerves from time to time. We had a great idea and executed as best as we could within the short timespan. The film didn’t even come out bad at all. This experience taught us many life skills, it showed us how to be responsible with ourselves, manage time, and to do things when they’re supposed to be done. As the producer I tried my best to keep everyone on track and to communicate but I think that’s one thing we struggled with besides time. Is to fully communicate how we felt or what one was doing during the scene. I just think at first we were just a bit awkward with each other so I believe thats why everyone kinda stood to themselves.
Going to the panels and the actual award show made everything worth it. It was like we finally made it through the craziness and now we’re here. Seeing our own films actually be presented and seeing others made it all the more real and exciting. I think a lot of us were very worried how the film was going to come out but in one of the panels the guy said “It’s not about the Quantity of the film, it’s about the Quality of it” and I just think that hit home. That was beyond accurate and we honestly had a good quality film. It was an absolute eye opener. Although we may not have won anything but we won the experience and knowledge on what to do for further films. So the film festival was beyond fun and beyond knowledgable.

This time around Ohio and I did the GSA forum that was hosted in our school. This year the 13th annual was hosted here at the high school and the whole point of this is to create a safe place and knowledge to the LGBT community. People from other towns, districts all came together in support of gaining knowledge, support, and help to those who needed it and it was a real eye opener. This film was supposed to showcase that and the impact it had on those that attended from the staff to the actual people.
Filming this year's GSA forum wasn’t all bad but it was a struggle for me and Ohio because we weren't the only ones filming Maria was too. It just became unorganized with the switching and sharing of the Tripod, battery, SD Card, and even camera when we were both filming for 2 separate things. It honestly became a hassle and it just became a little bit harder when we never received our camera with memory card back the next day and there was a confusion of who’s is what. Ohio and I were just at a standstill and didn't know what to do. Then when another GSA film was aired when we didn't know it was kind of like Ummm What?? So we didn't feel the need to really do another film but we did yet it was late and did not meet the deadline and there was just a lot of confusion.
I think for next time if we have our class and PATV filming to just keep it separately so no more confusion occurs. Also the communication just need to get better because I think we all just kind of scared to say something because none of us want to offend each other but things like this just can’t happen and it was just a lesson learned. The film came out great but it would've been easier if there wasn't such a lack of communication.

This time around Selena and I did a story on the basketball team and how they’re going to recover this season. Especially since they lost so many good players since they graduated we were trying to get a feel on how they were going to approach this season differently. How they were going to work through these hardships to have a better season. Especially since there’s so many seniors so we tried to show how since it’s their last season how they are approaching this season differently than the last and what they expect out of the season. We interviewed the coach, and 2 senior players. They discussed what they wanted for themselves and the team this year and the steps they’re doing differently. It’s ultimatley up to the team to decide how they’re going to do. I got Broll of the games to portray such.
This story wasn’t so hard to do but in the area I struggled with the most. Editing is not my calling and it’s something I’ve honestly never been great at. I did have to ask for a lot of help. Both Lissette and Deonte helped me so it can look right flowed, and make sense. I got a better feel now for the next time I edit and feel more confident for the next time. I just struggle a lot in this area and it’s something I’m still learning to get better at and thankfully my classmates helped me because I really did need it. I know how I wanted my story too look and feel but it was kind of hard getting there. The story looks great but it’s minor things I need to fix and remember for next time. Like my shots making them less shaky, the sound, Back rounds, what they’re wearing. Just little things I need to fix for next time.

Reflection
I worked on a film Maria. Our film was about the haunted hallway along with the festival that occurred at the same time. Our film was supposed to show the process of doing PAHS first ever Haunted hallway and to see if it was all worth it. In the film we showed clips from the when we went into it, the interview with bedir and other participants of the hallway.
This little film was honestly so hard. It’s not to bring down anyone but it was so hard because Maria involved herself in like 2 other films so her focus wasn't always on the one we were making at the time and that just made things difficult. I am not the best editor and I didn't know really the vision of how she wanted it and I honestly didn’t want to over step because Maria kept trying to take control so I would step back a little. But then I know it looked like I didn’t care or I wasn't putting in any effort and that’s not the case. We just miscommunicated but realistically during the middle we did come together to come and get this done even though it wasn’t on time.
Honestly I’ve learned to communicate better and to honestly up my editing skills so that way I don’t have to depend on anyone. Also to take to control and not spread myself too thin. This film process wasn’t the easiest but it came together. It wasn’t how I expected it be but I .learned so much regardless and we did eventually come together.

This time around things just didn’t and won’t go our way. On this film it’s me and Loriangie and it just feels like the universe is going against us telling us “NO”. At first we were going to do something on city hall and Perth Amboy’s fight to try and end bullying. But that within itself wasn’t very interest. There wasn’t b-roll on barley anything just for the fact there wasn’t a lot of people. Also, because all everyone did was go up to the podium and give speeches which were long a dragging and it wasn’t interesting like we thought it would be. Everyone basically said the same thing. Plus we couldn’t get interviews with anyone because no one really took it serious and it was just frustrating that we literally had nothing to film and put together. It just wasn’t working out for us in any way.
So then we moved on to a different story but it’s already crunch time… Making it all the worse. So now the story was going to be on the debate team. When we got to the meeting to shoot there were literally only 2 students in the class…. Like what? So we couldn’t get much broll of anything really just because there wasn’t anything to shoot besides really an interview. The teacher didn’t really want to be interviewed and he just keeps pushing it off. I’m trying my best to put something together but at the point I’m so discouraged of doing so. That I don’t even want to. This time around it wasn’t so easy it’s just been things going wrong left and right in all honesty.
